My name is Jessica, and I’m the founder of The Social Campfire. In 2015, I created my content marketing and digital marketing company after observing “holes” in the industry.
I enjoyed serving as a director of copywriting and social media at a medical technology marketing agency, but I noticed a few things. First, agencies weren’t spending enough time on a brand’s unique story. Rushing through deliverables to prove value, they weren’t slowing down enough to truly make marketing strategies successful.

Secondly, small businesses and startup companies were outsourcing a lot of work to expensive agencies with inflated billable hours…when really, training their staff could help them feel more in control of their strategy while saving them money.

Today, I serve my clients across the United States in a variety of industries remotely. I’m also a brand, business, and youth marketing/communications mentor.
I’m a ghostwriter for renowned marketing and business development consultants, a content creator and social media marketer for niche firms, a digital newsletter and social media specialist for SMBs, and a copywriter and content writer for technology, healthcare, and consumer enterprises of all sizes and personalities.
It’s an understatement to say I love content, copy, and marketing. I have over a decade of leadership experience growing brands, businesses, and communities of all sizes in a variety of industries.
Jessica’s Background and Education
Before working as a marketing professional full-time, I was a columnist and journalist for digital publications and outlets including Yahoo! and Examiner.com. I was also a contributor to Psychology Today and an editor at Bleacher Report.
I’ve written high-quality content for brands like E&Y and Gerber Childrenswear. I’ve also served as Managing Editor for the Laser Institute of America and marketer for Thryv and Vivial.
I’m a graduate of the University of Central Florida (GKCO!) where I studied writing, literature, marketing, and sociology. Along with my Bachelor of Arts in English, I possess a minor in sociology, a Community Creative Writing certificate, and graduate-level psychology training from Walden University.
Driven and passionate about the Central Florida community, I’m a former nominee of the Orlando Business Journal’s Women to Watch Under 40 award.
I’m also the Founder of Social Campfire, LLC, the Owner of Empowered Pathways, LLC, a certified end-of-life doula, the creator of the Endings IRL podcast, and an educator for K-12 students on the Outschool platform, teaching marketing, communications, business, and writing.
Along with my deep experience in the medical, mental health, food and beverage, sports, law, and alternative health arenas, I’m an enthusiastic, skilled writer, educator, and youth mentor.
